Importing Mapping Rules
The Upload Mapping Rules Command allows mapping rules to be uploaded to a Data Prep Mapping Group using a Chain. The Command requires the following Inputs:
The Mapping Group GUID
File containing the mapping rules
The Mapping Group GUID is part of the URL when accessing the Mapping Group through the Data Prep application. The URL utilizes the following convention:
💡 It is recommended to copy the GUID from the browser address bar to avoid typos.
The Upload Mode parameter has the following options:
Draft: The mapping rules in the current draft version are replaced with all of the mapping rules contained in file being uploaded. This does not create a new version in the Mapping Group.
Published: The mapping rules in the current published version are replaced with all of the mapping rules contain in the file being uploaded. This option creates a new version.
Both: The mapping rules in the current draft and published versions are replaced with all of the mapping rules contain in the file being uploaded. This option creates a new version.
📓 The Published and Both Upload Modes cannot be used if the Mapping Group has never been published. A Mapping Group can be published manually or by using the Publish Mapping Rules Command.
The file to upload can be the Output of any Command in the Chain or a Workspace Resource as long as the Output is a file and conforms to the required format. The format required for mapping rules can be found in the Uploading and Downloading Mapping Rules documentation.
Publishing Mapping Rules
The Publish Mapping Group Command publishes the current draft version of the mapping rules contained in the Mapping Group. This Command is useful to publish a Mapping Group which has not previously been published or simply to publish the Mapping Group without uploading new mapping rules.
The Command requires the Mapping Group GUID which can be retrieved from the URL when accessing the Mapping Group through the Data Prep application. Details on the URL structure are contained in the Importing Mapping Rules section above.
