Often data from source systems requires preparation and data transformation prior to being loaded to another system. The OneCloud platform provides a number of transformation capabilities through both Integration Studio and Data Prep.

This quick-start guide interactively focuses on OneCloud Integration Studio's various technical and lightweight functional transformation features. For more advanced transformation, we strongly recommend the use of OneCloud Data Prep.

OneCloud Data Prep is an incredibly powerful application that elevates the functional transformation (mapping) capabilities of the Integration Studio. Data Prep provides business users an easy, intuitive, interactive application for defining and managing ever-changing technical and functional transformation. Data Prep has comprehensive and powerful features to cleanse, transform, and map data ensuring cross-dimensional relationship validation. This helps eliminate inconsistencies and harmonize the data into a single reporting standard easily and intuitively.

This transformation quick-start guide will walk you through setting up OneCloud to perform various valuable functions to demonstrate how data can be transformed by OneCloud while be transferred from a data source to a target. Several simple datasets have been provided based on common use cases. These examples are able to be used without regard to the various technologies that OneCloud Integration Studio supports.

📓 IMPORTANT NOTE

The exercises in this Quick Start apply a combination of basic as well as advanced concepts. A foundational understanding of OneCloud is required to complete this Quick-Start. Prior to completing this quick-start, we suggest completing either the Learning OneCloud Integration Studio quick-start guide or the OneCloud Integration Studio Introductory course on the OneCloud Academy.

💥 TEMPLATES 💥

Each of the exercises that create a Chain is supported by a Template of the fully configured Chain. These Templates are provided as a reference to verify the exercise result. OneCloud strongly discourages deploying these Templates without completing each of the exercises as this bypasses the intended learning goals of the exercise.

Step 1: Get Access to OneCloud

New Company

If your company is not yet registered, visit https://app.onecloud.io/trial to sign up for a full-use trial of OneCloud.

Existing Company

If your company is already a OneCloud customer and you would prefer to use your primary OneCloud Environment for this tutorial, please contact your OneCloud system administrator. This will ensure you are added to a security group with Workspace administrator access. Please contact support@onecloud.io if you require additional guidance.

📓 PREMIUM BIZAPPS

Please note, this Quick Start makes use of the SFTP and HTTP premium BizApps. If your company is not licensed for these BizApps, please request a trial tenant for training purposes.

Step 2: Get Started

The tasks below will jumpstart users looking to optimize their ability to transform data in OneCloud Integration Studio. They have been broken down into five modules containing a total of 10 exercises. The estimated time to progress through all the content below is approximately 3 hours. However, each module's time to completion will vary based on the user's familiarity with the platform and subject matter.

🔎 Several of the exercises are in-depth and highlight a number of the robust transformation capabilities of Integration Studio. We strongly encourage you to complete all of the exercises as each is designed to highlight an additional feature or set of features.
