Installation Steps

  • Place the GroundRunner installation file in its own directory such as: home/<username>/onecloud/

  • Unzip the files in the directory created in step #1. Assuming unzip is installed, use the following command:

    • Linux: unzip linux_amd64_ground_runner.zip

    • MacOS: unzip darwin_amd64_ground_runner.zip

  • Use the following command to install the OneCloud GroundRunner. If elevated permissions are needed, "sudo" may be used.

    • Linux: ./occli install elevated: sudo ./occli install

    • MacOS: ./occli install elevated: sudo ./occli install

  • The installer will ask various questions. Press <enter> to accept the default. See an example installation below, so you know what to expect.

    • Which user should the GroundRunner run under? This is used to set and ensure folder permissions for to the user specified.

    • Please enter the path to install the GroundRunner?

    • Are you using a proxy server for your GroundRunner?

    • What is your Company Token?

      • This is obtained from the Admin ➡️ Runners ➡️ Downloads section and is unique to your platform only.

  • Delete the installation files, downloaded ZIP file, leaving only the OneCloud GroundRunner executable directory under the "Contents" directory.

Post Installation Steps

Running as a Service / Background

The OneCloud GroundRunner can be run as a background service when executed from the OS default init program. The command to execute is:
/home/<username>/onecloud/Contents/ocrunnermonitor

Running as a Foreground Process (log written to console)

  • The OneCloud GroundRunner can be run as a foreground process with the following commands:
    cd /home/<username>/onecloud/Contents
    sudo ./ocrunner

  • To stop the foreground process, press the key sequence: <ctrl> <c>

Running as a Foreground Process (log written to logfile)

  • The OneCloud GroundRunner can be run as a foreground process with the following commands:
    cd /home/<username>/onecloud/Contents
    sudo ./ocrunnermonitor

  • To stop the foreground process, press the key sequence: <ctrl> <c>

Example Installation Session

The following session demonstrates installing the OneCloud GroundRunner with the following configuration:

  • Accept default installation locations

  • Use the GroundRunner without a proxy

Uninstall

To remove the OneCloud GroundRunner service simply perform the following steps:

  • Stop the OneCloud Service (see instructions above)

  • Remove the service with the following command: sudo ./occli uninstall

  • Delete the "Contents" executable directory.

📓 These instructions assume the OneCloud GroundRunner executable directory is the following: /home/<username>/onecloud/

📓 Always download the latest GroundRunner

If the OneCloud GroundRunner needs to be installed in the future, simply download a new copy from OneCloud and do not use a previously download versions.
