The OneCloud Anaplan BizApp provides administrators and users the ability to automate complex workflows and integrations with Anaplan across a hybrid mix of on-premise relational technologies and cloud applications, including Tableau, Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, Namely, box, and Google Drive. The OneCloud Anaplan BizApp also allows users to run Anaplan Actions and Processes as part of a workflow. In turn, this enables application owners to greatly enhance their ability to share and streamline data and tasks between Anaplan models and other applications in a controllable, auditable, and scalable environment.

The Anaplan BizApp also supports the Anaplan Transactional APIs to drive agile integrations, deliver requirements faster and help you make the most of the IT investments. Through the Anaplan Transactional APIs, you can quickly gain greater insights into model properties and work with additional attributes, such as model calendar properties. Anaplan Transactional APIs also support multiple file formats and enable deeper insights into your Anaplan models via metadata APIs.

Connection Setup

To automate functionality within your Anaplan workspace from inside OneCloud, navigate to the connection manager to create a connection. From here, choose the appropriate Anaplan connection from the service drop-down. OneCloud interacts with Anaplan using different connection types. Use the appropriate Anaplan Connection Parameter to complete the setup.

Here is a summary:

  • Anaplan Standard Connection - is used to perform operations, including uploading and downloading data and running Anaplan Actions and Processes. This Connection is used to build all your Anaplan automation except for security settings.

  • Anaplan Robotic Process Automation Connection - is only used to automate the security settings for new Import Data Sources to change the security setting from No (Keep Private) to Everybody or Admins Only.

📓 Note

The Anaplan Standard Connection leverages the Anaplan REST API. To ensure optimal performance, the OneCloud Anaplan BizApp leverages the Anaplan Connect API Client to take full advantage of all the performance enhancements that Anaplan has incorporated into their native command-line client, Anaplan Connect. It is important to note that it is unnecessary to install Anaplan Connect to use OneCloud with Anaplan.

In comparison, the Anaplan RPA connection uses robotic process automation to set the Import Data Source security settings. This is only needed when a new data source is configured for the first time and is generally used in a Chain specifically designed to upload the new data source. All other Anaplan Chains will use the Anaplan Standard Connection.

Connection Example

For connection type Anaplan (Standard), you must select an Authentication type as a property. Select either Basic or Certificate. If Basic is selected, then provide your user name and password. If Certificate is selected, then please see the next section below Authenticate via CA-signed Certificate.

📓 Run Integrations on your Tenant only.

Anaplan users can only interface with the Anaplan API from their "Home Tenant." Here is the relevant link on Anaplan's support site: https://community.anaplan.com/t5/Releases/What-s-New-Anaplan-Integration-API-V2/ba-p/35454 and see the section titled: "Enhanced Security - Run Integrations on your Tenant only."

The following is an example of a working connection. Please substitute with your own values.

⚠️ This BizApp requires the installation of a Java runtime. For best system compatibility please install Java 8.

Authenticate via CA-signed Certificate

For connection types Anaplan (Standard), if you choose to use a Certificate, you must upload the CA-signed certificate and the Java Keystore files as resources. After you have uploaded these two files as resources, then enter the following parameters:

  • Certificate path: Use the same name as the uploaded certificate file

  • Java Keystore: Use the same name of the uploaded Java Keystore file

  • Keystore Alias: Use the value when creating the CA-signed certificate

  • Keystore Password: Use the value when creating the CA-signed certificate

Certificate File Name

Make sure the certificate file does not have any spaces.
